    Hi David,
I have been working with this MIFARE tags for almost 5 yrs. Your question is very generic and difficult to answer just like that. The following statements in my own words might help you
    1. S50 is based on the concept of Block and Sectors and I am sure you are aware of authentication using KeyA or KeyB
    2. NTAG216/NTAG215/NTAG213 are based on the concept of Pages and they are backward compatible with MIFARE Ultralight. I mean the top 16 pages are the same.
    3. NTAG21x however has dynamic locks and also nice Page Protection using Password protection.

If you want to know more, please visit youtube, I have made around 40 videos explaining Mifare s50, Ultralight, EV1, Ultralight C, NTAG21x and Mifare Desfire EV1. look for finitepi videos.

    Regards

Re: Reply To: Mifare Desfire ISO SELECT FILE Command

in reply to: Mifare Desfire ISO SELECT FILE Command
    Hi,
Looks like my question was not clear. The feature that is explained in that section of the document is not available in native commands. Indeed that is a very good feature the document says this. When we select a application not only we get status 90 00 but also the content of a file with id 31 in that application folder.

With native command I have to do two separate request to achieve this. All I am asking is, since the document mentions about this feature of ISO commands, I could not reproduce it. If anybody in your tech support have done this, then I would like to know how?

    regards

Hi there, I have sorted the issues and would like to close this post. There is a clean explanation in Mifare Desfire EV1 examples and hints pdf. It is under NDA though.

    Thanks

Excellent, thanks everyone. I understand Native commands are best but I have been asked to use ISO commands. I saw the documentation and it is indeed mentioned there. While reading my eyes probably missed that section. I got it, it is in page no 87 of 114.

    cheers

This is correction to above question. Is there a ISO/IEC 7816-4 command to read multiple records from either linear/cyclic file that MIFARE Desfire EV1 tag supports?

Excellent, I tried to create applications with varying number of keys and I am able to create 28 App. However, regarding sending more than 64 bytes looks like nightmare. I suppose it is not an easy task to use ISO-IEC 7816-4 command for chanining.

    Thanks
