MIFARE Classic and DESFIRE Read Range

Hi Team,

We have an RFID reader and we are recently testing it with a MIFARE DESFIRE tag, the read range is very short, less than 1cm, however, when we test it with MIFARE Classic, it has a normal read range which is about 4cm.

My question is: is there a minimal/different requirement for the TX power of the PCD for both MIFARE Classic and DESFIRE?
My reader has 23 dBm (200 mW) TX power which can work well with MIFARE Classic but not with DESFIRE.
