ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Enhances its VingeCard RFID Door Locks and Now Supports NXP’s MIFARE Plus EV1 ICs 24. July 2018

To increase security and flexibility for hoteliers, hotel staff and guests

Today, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, a leading provider for secure and innovative solutions for the hospitality industry, has announced it now supports NXP’s MIFARE Plus® EV1 ICs and thus enhances its VingeCard RFID door lock offering. Apart from heightened security features for hotel staff and guests, the new system also permits a smooth and cost-effective implementation for hoteliers.

As a result of the collaboration with NXP, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s electronic locks now enable more efficient lock management and monitoring. Thanks to user-friendly facilities, new communications tools ensure more security and usability in addition to cost-effectiveness and simplicity. Enabled by the dual operation mode of MIFARE Plus EV1, the new system allows hotels to evaluate their needs and modernize their infrastructure step by step, together with offering a seamless migration for hotels with multiple systems running on the legacy MIFARE Classic product.

The partnership between the two companies will also be represented visually by the MIFARE ingredient branding logo on future keycards which allows to identify the underlying IC product. This makes it easier for hoteliers to detect the appropriate contactless solution for their systems. Read more in ASSA ABLOY’s official announcement.
