Windows 7 driver for Ultralight

We are implementing the Ultralight in our products. The app we are developing in Win7 to read the cards needs to deal with the issue of no valid driver being available for the Ultralight. Disabling PnP for the smartcard does work but we can not do that on end user's computers. I did see some info about a NULL driver for that particular card. What is the solution that Mifare recommends which is the lightest load on our installer and eventually disables the driver search every time the Ultralight card is inserted into the reader ? Does Mifare have a null driver that we can use? Please advise, it is urgent.

    Hi Jona,

I am not sure to understand your question right.

MIFARE Ultralight is a contactless card and to use it you have to use a contactless reader. Most readers use the PCSC driver interface provided by Microsoft on Windows. Your software product should implement the communication to the Ultralight via this interface. Most reader manufacturer provide drivers for the PCSC interface. Your product is in this case independent from a particular manufacturer.

    Best regards,
    The MIFARE Team
