royalties needed?

    Hi,

Now we are planning to develop some NFC Reader-like product.

My question is, when we develop some NFC reader which can access MIFARE cards (Classic, DESFire, Plus, etc), do we need to make a contract and pay some royalties to NXP?

I found "Request form for passwords for condfidential MIFARE documents" to get some confidential documents. If we sign this request form, can we get enough documents to implement MIFARE access functionarities to our product? Do we need other contract and pay royalties after that?

I am new and this is my first post so apologize I put this in the wrong section or if this post is inappropriate.

    best regards
    Taro.

    Dear Taro,

In case you use NXP reader ICs, the chip comes with the required MIFARE functionality already included and you should not worry about the licenses.

    Dear Alex,

Thank you very much for answering me.
I understood if we use NXP reader ICs no need to worry about the licenses.
However we are planning to use other reader ICs, in this case do we need some licenses?

    Best regards,
    Taro
