Actually is very common find on market original NXP MIFARE IC´s "chip on board", most simple to use on plastic cards manufacture that traditional chip on reel, because don´t need additional process to separate it before sold to copper antenna.
We order wafers from authorized NXP dealers only and we use NFC TagInfo by NXP app on Android phone to verify original NXP DNA, that show is manufactured by NXP, but we found users that say "is not NXP because frame lead is generic and don´t have NXP text on back.
Our "chip on board" using original NXP IC is less original that NXP IC on reel ?

I have the same problem. We make a huge investment on equipment to convert wafers to COB and exist western customers that doubt about original NXP IC because we sell singles inside anti-static bags and not in reels (MOA4 or MOA8).

    Hi all,
NFC TagInfo by NXP app on Android phone and NXP Pegoda show original NXP NDA.
Our customer sent samples to MIFARE & RFID Intellectual Property Protection Team in Austria and conclusion is "The cards contain genuine NXP ICs."
