Hi,
For me it is not clear about which interface we are talking. I assume you are write a command to the driver interface to store the key. Usually you save a key inside of your framework and use it later if you need the key for the authentication. This has nothing to do with the smartcard itself or the used reader. I recommend to read the user manual of the interface/card driver you use.
