New ISO 14443 A/B OEM Smart Card Controller Board for embedded contactless applications 26. September 2011

Gothenburg – September 26, 2011 – ARCONTIA TECHNOLOGY AB, a Swedish producer of contactless smart card readers and terminals, today announced the next generation smart card embedded controller board for e-ticketing and e-payment.  With a fully embedded ISO/IEC 14443 A/B smart card reader, ARC1810OEM is the ideal contactless platform for integration in different contactless terminals used in transit and retail applications.

Featuring a series of high speed communication interfaces, advanced contactless features, as well as an external antenna for optimized reading performance, ARC1810OEM is a high performance contactless smart card controller board.

ARC1810OEM is designed for use in validators, turnstile gates, driver consoles, add value machines and ticket vending machines, providing system integrators and solution providers maximum flexibility to easily design and develop their own ticketing or payment terminal.

With a powerful ARM9 – 400MHz processor, ARC1810OEM can also operate as a master device with one or more slave devices, allowing multiple fare collection and payment devices to work simultaneously. “By introducing the new generation OEM smart card controller board with enhanced contactless payment and ticketing capabilities, Arcontia offers customers a leading edge embedded device platform that reduces development time and time-to-market”, says Jimmy Haeggstrom, CTO, Arcontia Technology AB.

ARC1810OEM supports nearly all global contactless standards, including the entire MIFARE family, Smart MX, Calypso, as well as support for future EMV contactless and NFC compliance, making it suitable for use in both existing and emerging contactless payment and ticketing markets.

In addition to the benefit of different communication interfaces, including Ethernet, USB, RS232 and RS485, ARC1810OEM is a highly configurable board that runs on Linux embedded operating system for easy integration and high speed. ARC1810OEM is a cost-efficient solution for system integrators and solution providers looking to build their own ticketing or payment terminal, featuring the latest in contactless technology.

ARC1810OEM will be showcased at APTA Expo New Orleans, USA in October 2011. Developer’s kits are available for delivery in November 2011.
